Terms of service
Last updated 3 October 2026.
These terms apply when you use SendBday at sendbday.com. By using it, you agree to them. If you buy a printed card, the card sections below and our refund policy apply too. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. Who we are
SendBday is run by Chouaib Tahlouli, in England. You can reach us at hello@sendbday.com. How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy notice.
2. What SendBday does
SendBday lets you share one link so friends can add their birthdays (day and month only) to your circle, and then reminds you before each one. It can also give your calendar app a feed of those birthdays, show wishlists, and post a printed card for you. The reminder service is free. We may change, add or remove features, and we will give reasonable notice of anything significant.
3. Your account
- You must be 13 or over to create an account.
- You sign in with a code or link sent to your email. Keep access to that email secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
- Your calendar feed address works like a password. If you think someone else has it, reset it from your dashboard.
- You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard.
4. Using SendBday fairly
You agree not to:
- add someone's birthday unless you know them and want to remember it, or add false or offensive entries to someone's circle;
- use SendBday to send spam, harass anyone, or collect other people's details for any other purpose;
- write a card message that is abusive, threatening, hateful, sexual, or that breaks the law;
- try to get round our security, overload the service, or access accounts or data that are not yours;
- use automated tools to sign up, add birthdays or scrape the site.
If you add a birthday for someone else, you are responsible for having a good reason to, and for removing it if they ask. We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, that breaks these rules. Where it is fair to, we will tell you why first.
5. Reminders
We work hard to send every reminder on time, but email can be delayed or filtered, and we cannot promise that every reminder will arrive. SendBday is a helpful nudge, not a guarantee.
6. Printed cards
Ordering
- You can order a printed card for someone in your circle. The price is shown before you pay (currently £4.99) and covers the card, the envelope and UK postage.
- Your order is accepted when payment is taken and you see the order confirmation. We email you a confirmation.
- Cards are posted to UK addresses only. You never see the recipient's address, and they do not see yours.
Your message
- Your message is printed exactly as you write it, so please check it. We do not correct spelling.
- Some messages are read by a person before printing. If a message breaks section 4, we will not print it and will refund you in full.
When we cannot post to them
A card can only be posted to someone who has given us an address and has not switched cards off or blocked you. If that is not the case when you pay, we tell you straight away and offer two ways on: send them a link to add their address, or have the card sent to you. If nothing changes by the date shown on your order, you choose what happens, or get a full refund.
Printing and delivery
- We print each card on its print date, chosen so it should arrive by the birthday. Printing takes up to three working days, and post up to a further five working days, depending on the service.
- Delivery dates are our best estimate, not a guarantee. If you order close to the birthday, we will tell you that the card may arrive late.
- Cards are printed and posted for us by Prodigi, and delivered by a postal service such as Royal Mail.
Cancelling and refunds
Because each card is personalised, the 14-day right to cancel does not apply once it is made. You can still cancel free of charge until it goes to print. Full details, including what happens if a card is faulty or lost, are in our refund policy.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into SendBday, such as names, wishlists and card messages. You give us permission to store, display, print and post it, only so far as we need to run the service for you.
8. Our responsibility to you
- If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failure or our negligence.
- We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business losses, or for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as postal strikes.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
- For the free reminder service, our total liability is limited to £50. For a card, it is limited to the price you paid for that card, plus your statutory rights.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using SendBday and delete your account at any time. We may end the service, giving you at least 30 days' notice by email and refunding any card that has not yet been printed.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and email you before any change that affects you significantly. The terms in force when you place a card order apply to that order.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please email hello@sendbday.com first, and we will try to sort it out.
